Microsoft Publisher allows you to add photographs and drawings to your flyers, brochures, certificates, letters, and other publishing materials. Although the program does not have such image editing functions as in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, Publisher allows you to crop your graphic images so that only a certain part of the image can be displayed. Earlier versions of Microsoft Publisher, which have a toolbar interface, allow you to crop rectangular images, while Publisher 2010, the first version of Publisher to display a ribbon interface, allows you to crop images in one of several forms. This article will teach you how to crop images in different versions of Microsoft Publisher.

Format Menu

And that's not it. If we draw an auto shape, a line will appear instead of this line AutoShape ... (Autofigure ...).

But let's turn to the line Picture ... and open the dialogue Image formatting.

Fig. 62. Image Formatting Dialog

You see, the dialog opened on the tab Picture. Although other tabs are equally important. But consider, of course, first this tab.

On top we get the field Crop from: (Crop off :). And, of course, all four sides of the picture are indicated from which it can be cropped. In all four boxes of input fields (Left, Right, Top, Bottom) inscribed by default, thank God, by zero. Although the drawings have to be cut off quite often, I try to do this before insertion. And that random portrait of a girl that I use as an example is cropped in Photoshop precisely so that the portrait itself has a certain character of a work of art, and there’s simply nowhere to cut it further.

You also probably noticed that Publisher does not have such an important tool as a tool Cropping Images. Now it’s clear to us that cropping pictures is carried out only from the menu Format. Or else find this tool?

We will not cut, we look further. Below is the field Image control (Image management). In fact, it can be called not Management, but Editing. Line Color: (Color :) with its input field or list edit the color of the image.
